Jay
Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Jay Williams, and I am a Veterinary Technician at Dunes Veterinary Clinic. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and animal rescue. I share my home with my dogs Bentley and Fleetfoot, seven cats, and four foster cats awaiting forever homes — all rescues who inspired me to start my own rescue programme.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is interacting with a wide variety of animals every day. I am particularly drawn to emergency and critical care as well as radiology.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose to pursue a career in veterinary medicine because of my deep commitment to animal welfare and my desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both animals and their owners. I am drawn to the unique combination of science, critical thinking, and compassionate care that the field requires. My experiences across emergency, general practice, and exotic animal care have only strengthened that passion and reinforced my dedication to continued growth in the field.
Education
I am currently completing an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, which I completed in 2025.
Professional Background
I hold certifications in Anesthesia Safety, CPR (Basic and Advanced Life Support), and Microsoft Office Proficiency, all of which support my ability to provide safe and effective care for my patients.
Work History
I began my veterinary career as an Emergency Veterinary Technician at VCA Palmetto Animal Hospital, followed by a role as a Receptionist and Assistant at On Point Animal Hospital. I joined the team at Dunes Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Technician in January 2026, where I bring experience across emergency, general practice, and exotic animal care.
